Raye Edwards, nicknamed "Raytoven" because of his sweet piano skills, was born in the small town of Farmville, N.C. He began his interest in music at the early age of 7 when his parents bought him an organ. Wanting to play piano, drums and guitar, his mom decided to enroll him in piano lessons to learn the basic chords and notes. Like many kids spent a lot of time learning and playing by hear. Trombone was also one of his most favorite instruments. In high school he formed a band and competed in talent shows where they won most of the events. Raye chose not to take music in college. After a year, he got married, concentrated on his family, and began playing for different churches in the area. "I stop playing for ten years until I ran into an old friend and band member who was interested in recording and writing original material. It wasn't long before I found I loved it." Raye worked on demos for six years, including at the time young Raven Symone, before moving to Atlanta where we formed our production team and started our own publishing company. Daryl Simmons of Silent Partner Studios liked our sound; shortly after we signed to Warner Chappell. "We have created minds and write the old-fashion way, find a foundation and build around it." R&B, Hip-Hop, Gospel, Country & Western, it doesn't matter, we hear it all. We call our studio the "Work House," an idea given to us by Daryl Simmons. We have worked for some of the biggest names in the music business. When I wrote the track "Never Just For A Ring," I knew it was special, but did not know it would end up being placed with Toni Braxton and distributed around the world. My most favorite experience was when I worked for BeBe Winans. Growing up listening to his work, and then getting the opportunity to be a part of it was awesome.
